Teambuilding Activity: Alternative Helium Stick

Over the past few months, I have conducted numerous team training sessions and discovered an alternative to the helium stick.

Why was I looking for an alternative? I often use the helium stick when a team believes they can work well together... And such a simple stick demonstrates that this is not always the case.

If they are unable to accomplish the task, it's important for the team to feel that frustration. And learn from it.

However, I still believe it's essential to provide them with a successful experience.

Here's how I do it:

I give them the choice to perform the same task using a hoop or a circular painter's tape roll.

In most cases, they succeed. It's crucial to celebrate that success and learn and grow together.
